Route description:

Above the snow line (Siguniang Mountain Peak 1/2)

The Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area is a World Natural Heritage Site, a National Scenic Area, a National Geopark, a National Nature Reserve, the Sichuan Giant Panda Habitat World Heritage Site, an outdoor sports and tourism destination, and one of China's top ten mountaineering mountains. Known as the "Eastern Alps," it comprises four relatively independent peaks over 5,000 meters: Yaomei Peak (6,250 meters) (behind the Shu Mountains), Sanfeng Peak (5,355 meters), Erfeng Peak (5,276 meters), and Dafeng Peak (5,025 meters). All of these peaks have been climbed by humans, and their climbing difficulty decreases in ascending order. Daerfeng Peak has also been developed into a well-established commercial route, satisfying the pursuit of 5,000-meter-high snow-capped mountains by more outdoor enthusiasts.

Peak No. 1: 5025 meters above sea level. Below 4000 meters, there are mostly alpine meadows with shrub forests in the lower parts. In summer, wild flowers are everywhere, and yaks and horses raised by herdsmen can be seen everywhere. There are wild mushrooms as big as bowls on the mountain, but they are not easy to find. Above 4500 meters, the rocks on Daguniang Mountain are as hard as a beast on the plateau. If you are a beginner outdoor enthusiast, then Dafeng is your best choice.

Peak No. 2: 5276 meters above sea level. Like the Big Peak, the Second Peak is entered through the Haizigou Mountain Gate at an altitude of 3400M. As you go up, you will feel the visual changes brought to you by different altitudes. The road to the climbing base camp of the Big Second Peak will eventually split at Jikaping. The Big Peak goes up to the left, while the Second Peak continues to cross forward. Passing through Dahaizi means that it is not far from the camp. Every year during the Cordyceps season, many locals will go there to look for high-quality products from the plateau. The peak of the Second Peak is steep and the peak is narrow. Compared with the Big Peak, it is more challenging and can be regarded as the first snow mountain in life.

Tour Route Details:

Day1: Chengdu-Siguniang Mountain Town

Depart for Siguniang Mountain Town, passing through Dujiangyan, Yingxiu, Wolong and other places through the Balang Mountain Tunnel to reach Siguniang Mountain Town. Along the way, you can see a change of scenery from the Chengdu Plain to the western Sichuan Plateau. Before arriving at Siguniang Mountain Town, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Siguniang Mountain from the Maobiliang Highway Observation Deck. Then continue to drive for about 10 minutes to reach the Siguniang Mountain Town Hotel to check in. The local guide will contact you in advance to confirm the equipment situation, itinerary and precautions for the next day's departure, etc. Tonight, organize your equipment in advance, rest and adjust your preparations for climbing.

▷ Accommodation: Hotel in Siguniang Mountain Town
▷ Meals: Please arrange your own meals
▷ Journey: Approximately 220km, approximately 4 hours by car
▷ Altitude: Approximately 3200m at Siguniang Mountain Town

Tips:
1. The climb to the top of the mountain will be significant on the day of departure, so please prepare warm clothing and be aware of the temperature differences caused by the altitude to avoid catching a cold.
2. Outdoor equipment rentals and sales are available in Siguniang Mountain Town; those who are short on gear can purchase and rent equipment there.

Day2: Siguniang Mountain Town - (approximately 0.5 km hike) - Haizigou - (approximately 7.5 km hike) - Dajianbao Conservation Station - (approximately 5-6 km hike) - Peak 1/Peak 2 Base Camp

The Outdoor Management Center begins processing outdoor tickets at 9:00 AM. We departed at 8:30 AM after breakfast. Large bags were carried to Base Camp by horseback in advance, and we didn't need to pick them up or put them down along the way, so we traveled light. Today's hike is quite intense, so please prepare plenty of meals and drinking water. During the hike, please manage your energy wisely and proceed at your own pace. The main climbing difficulty comes after the food stall. Those feeling exhausted can reserve horses in advance to reserve energy for the summit push the next day. Hikers will arrive at Dafeng Base Camp around 5:00 PM. Meals and hot water will be provided at Base Camp. All you need to do is acclimatize to the high altitude and prepare for the summit push the next day. An early bedtime is recommended tonight.

▷ Accommodation: Base Camp (dormitory bunks or camping)
▷ Meals: Breakfast (included), Lunch (self-provided during the hike), Dinner (included)
▷ Journey: Approximately 13km, 6-8 hours of hiking
▷ Altitude: Base Camp approximately 4200-4300m

Tips:
1. Today's elevation gain is approximately 1000m. No supplies will be provided at Base Camp; only meals and accommodation will be provided.
2. There will be no internet connection after the overnight stay at the shelter. China Unicom users will lose signal shortly after entering the Haizigou Scenic Area (this may also depend on weather conditions. It is recommended to inform friends and family in advance before departure).
3. Upon arrival at Base Camp, please dress warmly according to the temperature and take a leisurely walk outside the tent to take photos and acclimate to the altitude.

Day3: Base Camp - (Peak 1, approximately 3 km hike / Peak 2, approximately 5 km hike) - Summit Peak 1, 5025 m / Peak 2, 5276 m - (Peak 1, approximately 16 km hike / Peak 2, approximately 19 km hike) - Siguniang Mountain Town - (Approximately 220 km by car) - Chengdu

We got up at 03:00 this morning and prepared headlamps, drinking water and other equipment for the summit in advance. After breakfast, we set off on time at 04:00 (we may set off earlier in summer so that we can watch the sunrise after the summit). We went up and crossed the Dafeng Pass along the iron rope to start climbing to the summit. After reaching the summit, we took photos and admired the magnificent sea of clouds, sunrise, and Buddha's light, then safely descended to the Dafeng Camp. After a short rest, we packed up our personal belongings and packed up the items that we would not need on the way down the mountain and handed them to the guide to transport down the mountain in advance. Of course, if you do not want to hike down the mountain, you can also choose to ride a horse. You need to communicate with the local guide in advance. After all members arrived safely at Siguniang Mountain Town, they took a bus back to Chengdu. Everyone can have dinner in Chengdu freely to celebrate the joy of reaching the summit and share the gains and losses in the process.

▷ Accommodation: Self-provided
▷ Meals: Breakfast (including camp meals), Lunch (meals on the way, self-provided)
▷ Duration: Approximately 220 km by car, approximately 4 hours by car, approximately 19 km hike to Peak 1/24 km hike to Peak 2, 12 hours
▷ Altitude: Approximately 500 meters above Chengdu

Tips:
1. The summit climb requires considerable stamina. Those with reduced stamina can reserve a horse for the descent in advance.
2. For safety reasons, the summit closing time is set between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Descending is required regardless of whether or not you reach the summit.
3. Headlamps will be required on the summit climb; please prepare sufficient batteries in advance. Do not use flashlights or cell phones for lighting.
4. The guide will only provide guidance from Base Camp to the summit; this does not provide a babysitting service. A certain level of stamina is required for this climb. Please assess your own stamina before signing up.
5. The guide ratio is 1:1, meaning one guide/leader leads one team member.
6. High-altitude mountaineering can be challenging due to various factors (such as physical fitness, altitude sickness, or inclement weather). However, all costs have been paid and are not refundable.

* The above itinerary is for a 3-day itinerary with a choice of either Peak 1 or Peak 2. A 4-day itinerary is for a combined climb of Peaks 1 and 2, meaning a 3-day itinerary includes an additional day to summit Peak 2, with the return to Chengdu postponed to the 4th day.
